I’m an independent writer and editor based on the island of Maui. I cover travel, science, culture, and food for publications including BBC Travel, Smithsonian.com, Honolulu Magazine, Hana Hou! (the Hawaiian Airlines Magazine) and Spirituality & Health.

During my eight years as Associate / Dining Editor for Maui Nō Ka ‘Oi magazine, the publication received multiple honors, including a 2011 Maggie for BEST REGIONAL & STATE MAGAZINE.

My book credits include: Frommer’s Hawai’i 2015-2017, Top Maui Restaurants 2012, Fodor’s Maui 2005-2009 and Fodor’s Hawai‘i 2002-2009. I also create high school science curricula based on the native ecosystems of Hawai’i: Hō’ike o Haleakalā.
